Whistleblowing, eye-gouging and spear tackles

19 Mar 2010 - Yesterday, addressing a group of approx 25 key stakeholders from the disciplinarily community , Hailsham's Disciplinary Group Head, David Pittaway QC presented a detailed analysis of the reporting concerns that remain despite the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998.

David's paper "Whistle Down the Wind" examines many of the issues that arose out of the Shipman and Bristol inquiries, Doran v General Teaching Council and Haywood v Nursing Midwifery Council.

Also speaking at the event, hosted by Russell Jones & Walker in London, was RJW Partner, Jeremy Summers. Jeremy, as Chair of the Rugby Football Union and International Rugby Board Disciplinary Panels, gave an insightful perspective about discipline and regulation in sport.
