Stephen Bailey

Stephen joined Hailsham Chambers in October 2009 on successful completion of pupillage. He is now developing his practice in all of Chambers' areas of specialism. During pupillage he had the benefit of seeing a broad range of work with his pupil supervisors, including professional negligence work (both for claimants and defendants) with Simon Wilton and Glenn Campbell, and clinical negligence and disciplinary work with Andrew Post. He saw cases at all levels of court, from the county courts to the House of Lords. Stephen also went on secondment to the medical law department of one of the major London law firms.

Stephen is regularly asked to advise and draft pleadings in professional negligence, clinical negligence, personal injury and contractual matters. He has conducted a broad range of hearings in the county courts and High Court, including small claims and fast track trials, CMCs, possession hearings, applications for permission to appeal and applications in the Companies Court.
